The shot opens to a black screen with the sound of running feet and someone panting. The video actually opens to a shot of the beautiful skyline above a park with trees littering the nearby area and large sculptures of man-made monuments of metal on the horizon.
The camera cuts quickly from the skyline shot of the park and the city on the horizon to a pair of pink and blue sneakers splashing into a puddle, the water splashing all around. The shot pulls up behind her to reveal a pair of yoga pants clinging to shapely legs and up to a black tank top with blonde hair in ringlet curls bouncing as the woman runs.
She glances over her shoulder, her plain face unable to mask the blind terror that pumped through her veins. The shot cuts away suddenly to a shot of something shooting across the darkness of the trees alarmingly fast and then back to the woman who continues to run, whimpering with terror.
The loud sound of flapping wings beating on the breeze was heard as the dark shadow blasted across the woman to the other side of the trees once, and then again back the way it had come. The camera comes to her face, tears running down her face as she looks up but finds nothing but the night sky.
Something hits her in the back with blinding speed, the feet of what appeared to be a five-toed bird sank into her shoulders, blood shooting out as the woman’s agonized scream was cut off as she was ripped into the air.
The shot stayed on the empty, now silent little park before moving slowly toward the trunk of a tree. When it reached the trunk of the tree, the shot turned up to look up just as a body slammed into the higher branches, a single leg dangled over the edge and swung limply.
A pink and blue sneaker swinging softly back and forth.
A dark shape hit the body on the branches causing the wood to creak and bend. In the darkness of the night high up in the tree a humanoid shape could be seen with two bipedal legs standing on the branch edge. Two strong looking arms led down to hands with five horribly long fingers, each of which gripped the woman’s torso. The outline of the head seemed to be surrounded by feathers as the head darted down and began to tear pieces of the woman with wet ripping sounds.
The humanoid creature stayed high up in the trees enjoying its meal oblivious to a new sound that suddenly began in the trees but the camera, so close to the ground, could hear it. It was faint, but it was there.
The soft sound of feet moving slowly, carefully, across the grass. The camera turned and scanned the treeline and found nothing for a moment until a silhouette came out of the darkness a hundred yards to the left of the tree.
The first to appear was a bronze skinned woman with brown hair dressed in black tactical gear with a green tint eye display over her eye and a long spear strapped to her back. Next to her another woman came into view wearing the same gear with the same type of green tinted display over her eye. She was pale skinned with reddish blonde hair and looked slightly younger than the first, but unlike the first, she had a double sided axe strapped to her back.
Each of them had a pair of black handguns in holsters on their hips. The camera came in close to view the grips of the guns and saw strange ritualistic designs were carved into the wood. Moreover, the runes were glowing a faint white.
Bronze skinned woman: “Agent Rain to Nest.”
The camera moved quickly back to the strange creature in the tree who made no move to show it heard the woman or the voice that suddenly came back through the earpiece in her ear. A deep male voice.
Male Voice: “Report.”
Agent Rain: “We’ve tracked the disturbances. It’s a Loroca. Waiting instructions.”
Male Voice: “Neutralize and cleanse.”
Agent Rain: “Yes sir. Approaching target.”
The two continued through the shadows splitting up and heading around both sides of the tree. Agent Rain looked at the other woman with her and motioned to her eyes and then up into the tree and the woman nodded. She looked around her, then took a purposeful step backwards onto a small stick, which snapped on impact.
The creature in the tree’s head shot up and it let out a loud owl like shriek, its arms spreading wide to reveal long flesh covered wings extending from the back of its forearms. The Loroca came soaring through the branches down toward the woman who rolled at the last second. The creature adjusted and swung around, never landing, and made a beeline for the woman, screeching the whole time.
Again the woman jumped to the side, landing on her shoulders and rolled to her feet, revealing Agent Rain behind her, gun drawn. A single report erupted as the shot came in the barrel to reveal the rune covered bullet coming down the barrel glowing white. It hit the creature square in the forehead.
Purple blood erupted from the Loroca’s face and showered the ground. It hit the ground hard and tumbled end over end past the two women, its body disintegrating into smoke and ashes as it went.
Agent Rain: “Alison, take care of the blood. I’ll make the call so the local LEO’s will find the body.”
The pale blonde woman nodded and withdrew a small vial from one of the side pockets of the cargo pants she wore. The vial was filled with a silver salt like substance that when she dropped it onto the purple blood the blood sizzled and turned to ashes, much as the Loroca had.
The shot turned back to agent Rain on the phone. She spoke out of camera range for a few moments then ended the call and replaced the phone to her back pocket. Motioning for Alison to join her, the two disappeared back into the darkness again, but the camera panned into the trees focusing on a line of purple liquid that ran down the trunk of the tree.
A circular design came out of the purple until it took up the entire screen and Hidden Citizens “Paint it black” begins to play.

Before fading into a clock which read 5:14 AM. When the time flipped the alarm began to go off and a slender pale hand moved lazily into frame hitting the off button. The camera panned to the side to reveal a fit woman of asian descent in her late twenties as she flipped the covers off her revealing slender legs sticking out of a long night shirt.

The camera followed the woman as she rose from the bed and stretched, the long night shirt sticking to the curves of what was a slender, toned, athletic and attractive body beneath. She yawned and moved out of the bedroom through a door and disappeared. Soon after the sound of water running could be heard and the camera moved to the side just in time to see a shirt hit the ground followed as the door to the bathroom closed.

A quick flash later and the woman was standing in a towel in front of the mirror. Her hair was wet and she looked much more awake and coherent now. She was pretty, but in a way that didn’t attract too much attention, even when she finished her makeup. She moved into the bedroom and dropped the towel, which led to another quick cut to reveal her in a pantsuit and long white lab coat. The camera came in close to a name tag on the pocket of the coat with her picture and the name “Lillian Kim.”
She left the bedroom and opened the front door of the house to find a large package sitting on the porch waiting for her. Making a confused face she returned inside and dropped it onto the kitchen table. Opening it she could a pair of black thigh high boots, a thigh length skirt and a black top with a matching hat. Making a face she plucked a card that was just signed “Alexa,” shook her head pulling out her phone.
Placing the phone on her ear she returned to the door, closed it and locked it before heading out into the front yard of her house.
Voice: “Hey, Lily!”
Lillian Kim: “What, in the hell, did you send me, Lexi?”

Voice: “You got it?!”
Lillian Kim: “Why else would I be calling?”
Alexa Morgan: “I thought it would be cute.”
Lilliam Kim: “I’d look like a hooker, Lexi.”
Alexa Morgan: “A cute hooker….”
Lillian Kim: “That’s not any better, Lexi.”
The woman said with a laugh.
Alexa Morgan: “Whatever, killjoy. I’ll see you at the office.”
Lillian Kim: “What?! Why are you at my office?”
Lillian asked but only heard silence. She looked down at her phone and saw the call had ended. The song continued as the shot faded up into the skyline and then back down to reveal a huge building before fading inside as the door opened and Lillian walked in.
Alexa, it turned out, was a woman around her own age with soft brown hair. She was tiny, barely five foot and skinny with a bubbly persona and a beautiful, soft lined face. She was wearing a pair of jeans and a Megadeth t-shirt with a police badge attached to her belt that read “Lt. Alexa Morgan”.
Lillian dropped her bag onto a round topped chair as the song and credits faded out putting the full attention on the two women.
Lillian Kim: “What’s going on, Lexi? Why are you here?”
Alexa Morgan: “We need you to tell us…”
The tiny brunette pulled out a bag from a small cooler. The bag was plastic, see through and zipped closed with a small glass vial inside. The vial was filled with a purple fluid.
Alexa Morgan: “What this is, exactly.”
Lillian was just about to retort when she saw the vial inside the bag and immediately rolled a chair over. When she reached the table, she quickly sat down and pulled on a pair of latex gloves without ever taking her eyes off the package.
Lillian Kim: “I’ve never seen anything like this…”
Alexa Morgan: “Neither have we.”
The brunette admitted and handed the package to her friend.
Alexa Morgan: “We found it at a crime scene on a street with a dead body that a mountain lion had dragged up a tree. We thought it was blood at first, but we aren’t sure.”
Lillian Kim: “Well, that explains why you brought it to me.”
Alexa Morgan: “Thanks, Lils. Let me know what you find.”
Alexa left, leaving Lillian alone with the evidence. She pulled the vial from the bag and took a closer look. The liquid was purple with faint black and red sparkling flecks floating through it like stone and fire.
Lillian Kim: “What are you…?”

The shot shifts inside a hallway with metal walls and a thick plated metal floor with the sound of footfalls hitting the thick metal of the floor. The camera pulls up a man passing along the corridor. He had scruffy brown hair and a thick stubble beard and was wearing a pair of slacks and a dress shirt.
He passed a wooden counter with a cage on each side of a thick plate glass window. Behind the barrier were weapons stacked in rows on the walls, handguns, automatic rifles and shotguns with ammunition stacked in rows beneath each row of weapons.
As he passed the counter a man behind it glanced up and the two met eyes. He was brown haired, cut short into a crew cut with a clean kempt mustache and goatee. The two never spoke, but exchanged nods as the man passed the cage.
He continued down the office hallway turning left at another hallway and then right into an opened office door. The office was made of the same metal material and filled with furniture, the desk bolted to the floor with the walls covered in plaques and medals, the pictures in the plagues were of a bald man with glasses wearing a three piece suit with various figures posing for pictures.
The name on the plaque simply said “Special Agent Lincoln Bell”.
The camera shifts finally to the desk and finds the man from the photos sitting behind the desk. The bearded man shut the door giving them privacy and turned his attention to the man behind the desk.
Bearded Man: “You called, sir?”
Lincoln Bell: “Yes, thank you, Agent Marks. We received this about twenty minutes ago.”
Bell held out a closed manilla folder which Marks took and opened to reveal a file filled with various chemical markers and the words 'Pasadena County Labs.’ Marks looked up sharply once he looked it over.
Agent Marks: ‘Is this what I think it is?!”
Lincoln Bell: “That depends. Do you think it’s the official blood analysis of a Loroca, then yes.”
Agent Marks: “Who the hell got their hands on Loroca blood?!”
Lincoln Bell: “Pasadena police were called to the scene of the Loroca attack responding to a call of a mountain lion attack and found a strange foriegn substance on the tree below the body.”
Agent Marks raised a hand and pinched the bridge of his nose.
Agent Marks: “STALD missed it during the clean up. That explains why Ford looked so pissy earlier.”
Lincoln Bell: “I need you to go dispose of that blood and destroy any records of the analysis that they’ve made. You know the drill.”

The shot shifts from the interior of the office building to the inside of a seedy bar. It was empty, but strangely filled with smoke. A young woman with bright fiery red hair sat on one of the stools at the bar with a bartender standing across from it filling a drink for her. The camera came in to show his hand shaking as his eyes darted across her face but she paid him no mind.
She just focused on the phone in her hand as if she were bored.
The door at the back of the room opened and a third figure entered. The third figure was that of a young man who didn’t appear old enough to even be in this kind of place. He was baby faced with brown hair and dressed in a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt.
The bartender looked up from the redhead in the dress to the young man, his voice shaking.
Bartender: “Y...Y...ou really c..an’t be in here young man.”
The young man ignored him and crossed the room, looking in each of the booths, as if he were looking for something. He crossed the room to the doors leading to the back room, each step causing the bartender’s eyes to slowly widen a bit more.
Bartender: ‘I’m gonna...have to ask you to get out...Go. Now.”
Still the young man ignored him but the redhead looked up from her phone and took the drink, draining it in one quick motion and tagged it with a long, red painted fingernail.
Woman: “Another.”
The bartender returned his attention to the woman and refilled her drink with his shaking hand with the young man easing the door open in the background. The shot shifts into the back hallway where flies were beginning to buzz around the two dozen bodies that were lying all over the floor.
The camera focused on the bodies and found each of them had blood coating their hands and claw marks on their faces. As if they had literally gouged their own eyes out and it had killed them.
The young man didn’t even blink at the sight. He just sucked in a breath through his teeth and the door swung closed.
Young man: “Fi.”
His voice was stern, even annoyed. The redhead rolled her eyes and set the phone down before sliding around on the chair to face the young man across the room.
Firianna “Raz.”
She said in greeting but didn’t seem thrilled to see him.
Firianna “It’s been awhile since you were allowed to leave.”
Razian: “I know. I don’t like it here. It’s bright. And loud. And smells. You know I hate it here, Firianna.”
Firianna “Then WHY are you here, Razian.”
Razian: “Why do you think?”
There was something that hung in the air between the pair and the woman slowly slid off the chair. As she passed the bar and the mirror that sat behind it, the reflection showed something different. She was tall with red hair wearing a black and silver dress, with long legs and full lips.
The reflection however showed a woman with long slender legs, a thick fox-like tail sticking out of a hole in the back of the dress. Large fox-like ears stood up from the top of her hair and her face? Couldn’t be seen as it was hidden behind a red and black gas mask.
She crossed the room to stand chest to chest with the young man, her breathing quick from sudden excitement.
Firianna “...has it finally happened?”
Razian: “Find Zelena. Lord Infairi is calling. But before you go you have a mess to clean up.”
Firianna “A mess?”
Razian: “Your owls are running wild and attracting attention. The Third Kingdom has proof at a lab up town. See to it.”
Firianna nodded gravely before turning and skipping for the doors. When she reached them she stopped and looked over her shoulder at the bartender but Razian shook his head and kicked his lips, very dog-like.
Razian: “Go. I’m hungry.”
Firianna giggled again and slipped out leaving the bartender to look at the young man as he began around the bar. A slow, low growl began to rumble just barely audible from the young man as he passed by the mirror and much like the woman his reflection was different.
He was wearing body armor over his upper legs and torso up over his right shoulder. He was twice the size of the body he seemed to be inhabiting and covered in thick fur with the long snout of a wolf with rows of razor sharp teeth.
The bartender opened his mouth to speak when the young man and his reflection pounced, tackling him to the floor. The sound of flesh tearing and the bartender screaming could be heard seconds before a splatter of thick blood hit the mirror and began to run down it.

The shot shifts back into the office of Lillian Kim. The machines all over the office were whirring as the tests were being run at various stages. One of the machines across the room beeped and Lillian pushed herself on the chair causing it to slide across the floor to the computer where she began to type bringing up one of the chemical reports on the sample Lexi had brought her.
Lillian Kim: “What do we have here.”
She typed again and the values on the screen were linked to parts of the report with words now atop the lines. As she read them Lillian frowned.
Lillian Kim: “This can’t be right...High levels of Alkaline...The amino acids are all wrong and…”
She blinked and leaned in closer.
Lillian Kim: “Is that...is that sulfur?!”
She leaned back again and put her finger to her lip tapping it gently when the door opened and the brunette Alexa walked in. Lillian barely glanced up to notice her walking in with a purpose and the folder in her hand.
Alexa Morgan: “Run it again.”
Lillian Kim: “Hmm?”
She turned and looked at her friend as if she hadn’t noticed her the first time.
Lillian Kim: “What?”
Alexa Morgan: “The mystery fluid. Run it again.”
She held up the folder, her face red and embarrassed.
Alexa Morgan: “I can’t in good faith take this to the Captain, Lils. It will ruin both our careers.”
Lillian Kim: “I ran…”
She was about to tell her she had run it five times when she noticed they weren’t alone. The camera shifts around to find Agent Marks standing in the doorway with his hand raised to knock. He offered a gruff attempt at a smile.
Agent Marks: “I’m looking for Doctor Lillian Kim?”
Alexa turned and put her hands on her hips.
Alexa Morgan: “And you are?”
Marks reached into his lapel pocket and pulled out a folded badge which he opened to show to the officer. The badge had his picture, his name and the strange circular logo we had seen at the start of the episode.
Agent Marks: “Special Agent Alexander Marks.”
Alexa took the badge and examined it closely. After she looked up with a lifted brow.
Alexa Morgan: “Department 17? Never heard of it.”
Agent Marks: “Most haven’t.”
He told her and pocketed the badge again.
Agent Marks: “It’s a special division of homeland security. We don’t mix with the local LEO’s much. Which one of you is Lillian Kim?”
Lillian raised a hand sheepishly and Marks looked into the hand of Alexa and saw the faintest hint of the chart sticking out of the folder and held out his hand.
Agent Marks: “I am gonna need to take that.”
Alexa Morgan: “Like hell you are!”
Marks actually reached out and took it out of her hands and she knew enough not to fight someone with the government, even if she was unhappy about it.
Agent Marks: “I am going to need to take all the files you have made and the sample. Thank you.”
The two couldn’t do anything to stop him from taking what he wanted and watching helplessly as he deleted the files from her computer. Or watch helplessly as he turned and began away after thanking the pair for their cooperation. When he reached the door however Lillian asked sharply.
Lillian Kim: “Is that demon blood?!”
Marks froze in the doorway and frowned. He reached into the pocket of his jacket and withdrew a small gold tin. Unstopping it he revealed a clear gel that he took a small amount of, spread it over his hand, before returning it to his pocket.
He turned fully and crossed the room looking Lillian in the eye, and noticed immediately as he did the officer’s hand dropped to her sidearm. Marks didn’t however harm Lillian, instead he simply held his hand out.
Agent Marks: “There is no such thing as demons, Miss Kim. It was nice to meet you.”
Lillian looked down at the hand for a long moment before shaking it and Marks turned and left without another word, the camera following behind him. When he reached the solitude of the outside of the building, he opened his hand and the camera moved in to see it was now shimmering like a thousand little diamonds.
He sighed, withdrew his phone and made a call. He leaned the phone on his shoulder and stared down at his hand.
Agent Marks: “Hey, Ford. Tell Bell we got a hitch-hiker….Yeah. North I believe.”
**
The shot shows the sun going down, casting the city in darkness again before moving back into the office where Alexa and Lillian had come to terms with all of their evidence being taken, but the mood in the office had taken a downturn.
Every now and then Alexa would glance up at the asian woman and then away. She did this a couple of times before finally blurting out.
Alexa Morgan: “What was that whole shit about a demon?!”
Lillian Kim: “The blood...or saliva whatever it was? Everything about it was wrong but...the weirdest thing? It had sulfur. I can’t think of anything else that would have sulfur in its blood.”
Lillian paused and her eyes seemed to slide out of focus as if she was far away.
Lillian Kim: “And I could just...tell. The instant I saw it...I just knew.”
Alexa stared at her friend blinking and then put her face in her hands.
Alexa Morgan: “I need a drink. Come on….”
She motioned with her head and Lillian nodded and followed her out. After locking up, the two head across the campus and toward the parking structure. Neither of them seemed to know what to say as they walked, all of it was simply too weird. The camera however caught a figure standing on the top of the car park.
Firianna.

The shot shifts inside the metal hallways of the office of Department 17 and into the office of Lincoln Bell just as Alexander Marks walks through the door. He tossed the folder down on the desk and folded his arms over his chest.
Agent Marks: “All the records on site were deleted.”
Lincoln Bell: “Any complications?”
Agent Marks: ‘No. I was in and out so fast no one really had any time to think. Did Ford give you my message?”
Bell leaned back in his chair and nodded gravely.
Lincoln Bell: “You’re sure?”
Agent Marks: “One hundred percent. I did the test myself.”
Lincoln Bell: “Alright. I sent STALD to keep an eye on her and confirm. They’ll report in and make contact when the time’s right. I want you to head back out and assist, Alex.”
Agent Marks: “You aren’t serious?!”
The gruff man asked roughly and opened his arms in outrage.
Agent Marks: “I don’t have anything to do with STALD, Sir.”
Bell reached out and grabbed the top of the computer monitor spinning it around. Lillian’s face was shown along with her various records, criminal, credit, school reports.
Lincoln Bell: “Does she strike you as STALD material, Alex? We’ve never found one like her before. No martial arts training. No specialization of any kind. Not in explosives. Not in ranged weapons or close quarters. This girl doesn’t seem to be interested in combat at all.”
Agent Marks: “So, Ford has more training to do than usual. None of which has anything to do with me, Sir.”
Lincoln Bell: “She won’t make it in STALD and you know it but you know we can’t leave any of the hitch-hikers just run around. Least of all from the north. You know how important they are, Alex.”
Marks drew in a deep breath and sighed.
Agent Marks: “...Fine.”
Marks leveled a finger at the man across the desk.
Agent Marks: “Under protest.”
Lincoln Bell: “Noted. Ford’s expecting you.”
Marks let out a scoffed laugh that Bell would already have told Ford he’d do it then turned and left the room.
**?
The shot shifts to an out of the way little bar near the campus where Lillian and Alexa had decided to go to cool off and try and get over the sting of being taken so completely off their own case. The two sat at the bar drinking, paying very little attention to anyone else in the room until something caught Alexa’s eye.
The woman’s training no doubt.
Lillian excused herself and headed off toward the bathroom but Alexa’s eyes fell on someone sitting in the corner of the room with his foot up on the corner of a pool table. A man in his late twenties with brown hair that was cut nearly military short, but the thin layer of stubble across his cheeks and jaw said he wasn’t military.
He didn’t seem to be looking at her or at Lillian but every now and then she’d catch him watching them out of the corner of her eye. Though he was very careful not to be caught.
When Lililian returned, Alexa noticed that most people in the bar were watching her, which was understandable as she had changed into the new outfit after work, if nothing else than to shut Alexa up.
The only part she was missing was the little flat cap style hat that Alexa has sent with it. She flat out refused to wear that, even to appease her friend. The boots, little skirt and half top however were all on, even if she did choose to wear a bra underneath. It wasn’t part of the outfit, but she’d wear it nonetheless.
By the time she got back to the seat and Alexa looked back at the pool table the strange man in the corner was gone. All that remained was the bottle of beer he had been drinking, which by the looks of it from across the bar, hadn’t been touched.
The two stayed until well into the night and to Alexa’s surprise the man never appeared again. She noticed a young woman with brown hair watching Lillian and another young blonde doing the same, but chalked it up to the outfit and them being attracted.
It was near two A.M. when the two women left the bar alone, much to the chagrin of a lot of the college age boys who had crowded the near campus bar. None of them seemed to know, or care that Alexa was a cop.
The two made their way back toward the parking structure where Alexa had left her car with the only sound of the heels the two women were wearing clicking off the pavement among the other ambient sounds of the evening.
The structure was four stories high with a set of stairs leading up on each of the four corners. Alexa and Lillian disappeared into the stairwell and began up the stairs with a strange shadow passing over the stairs as they did.
When they reached the third floor and exited the stairwell into the main floor, Alexa glanced behind her, with the camera following her to show a figure coming around the same corner from the stairs behind them.
It was the man from the bar.
Alexa said nothing, leading Lillian to the trunk of her car as she fumbled with her key ring, silently cursing her decision to make those extra drinks . After a few moments of fumbling the trunk popped and she grabbed it before it could fully open, stopping it and reaching inside with her hand near the lid.
With the other hand Alexa shoved Lillian to the side and spun around, a glock in her hand.
Alexa Morgan: “Freeze, Dirtbag!”
Lillian stumbled but was able to remain standing, showing she was used to moving around in heels but the camera moved to face the direction Alexa has the gun and found nothing but an empty asphalt.
Alexa looked around confused, her eyes alternating between wide confusion and narrowed rage as they darted around the parking lot.
Alexa Morgan: “Where is he?!”
The shadow of something shot across the sky just beyond the small opening to the left and Alexa spun only to stare out at the empty air beyond the wall of the third floor. Another quick movement saw something shoot by the other side of the building and the brunette woman spun around again with the weapon out.
Alexa Morgan: “What the hell is going on?!”
Lillian Kim: “Alexa?”
And then in the blink of an eye there was a third figure standing with them. The man from the bar stood only inches from Alexa’s chest. He had short brown hair and a thin layer of stubble across his cheek and jaw giving him a rugged handsome look.
Alexa Morgan: “WHAT THE….”
Man: “Get down!”
He didn’t wait for Alexa to answer, instead grabbing her by the arm and shoving her to the side. Alexa fell into Lillian sending both women into the hood of the detective's car before losing their balance and falling to the ground. Alexa glanced up in time to barely see the man reach into a holster hidden in the back of his shirt and pull out the biggest handgun she had ever seen.
It was a desert eagle .50 caliber, only bigger with strange symbols glowing white along the grip and running along the barrel.
The man’s arm came around at an arch just as something else came into view shooting between the small gap in the wall of the third floor. It looked like an owl, but the size of a man and coming faster than anything the two women had ever seen.
When the weapon in the man’s hand fired it barely made a sound but hit the strange creature with such force both the women could hear it tear into the flesh. When the round hit the flesh sparked a bright white and it hit the ground rolling end over end shrieking as it burnt to ash.
The two women watched in stunned shock as the man’s free hand reached back and unstrapped what appeared to be a steel spike, only for the man to give it a flick and it extended into a spear that he held in his other hand, the entire length of the metal covered in those glowing white runes.
He raised the hand holding the spear and pressed his index finger to his ear.
Man: “Eyes open. It doesn’t seem to be a swarm, but there are at least three more out there.”
Female voice over earpiece: “Roger, Sir.”
Lillian looked around trying to wrap her head around what was happening but Alexa just stared at the spot where the strange creature had disintegrated.
Alexa Morgan: “WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!”
Man: “Both of you stay down. Agent Marks thought you may be targeted.”
Lillian Kim: “Targeted!? By who?!”
She knew immediately as her eyes fell on the spot where the monster had burnt to ash that she should have asked, by what, but Alexa threw herself up, pointing her weapon at the man and squeezing off three shots.
The shots whizzed by him and hit another of the owl creatures as it came shooting into the gap in the wall. The bullets hit the creature dead in the chest but didn’t so much as slow it down. It did however throw the man off enough that when he reacted it was a half a second too late and the owl creature shouldered him to the ground.
The thing shot by him darted for the two women and Alexa continued to fire, emptying the clip into the creature but it didn’t even slow down. It landed in front of Lillian and lifted a winged arm to bring down a swipe from its clawed hand when the side of its head exploded showering the two women in bright purple blood.
The camera looked up through the hole in the disintegrating creatures head and zoomed through the hole to the roof across the street where the same brown haired woman from the beginning was crouched beside her blonde partner releasing a smoking shell from the chamber of a white rune covered sniper rifle that was built bigger than they usually were.
Man: “I said, stay DOWN!”
He shoved Alexa to the side just as another pair came through the opening on the other side of the parking structure behind the women. The handgun in his right hand fired three rounds taking the creatures in the chest, sending them to the pavement where they rolled and burnt to ashes.
Before they could even react the man threw himself onto the trunk of Alexa’s car, slamming it shut and rolled over it. When he reached the other side he used the momentum of his roll to throw the spear like a javelin where it took a fourth of the creatures in the head driving it into the wall where it shrieked and burnt to ash.
And just like that, it was over as quickly as it had started. The man released a clip from the no longer glowing gun in his hand and replaced the magazine before putting the depleted one into his coat pocket. After he placed his finger to his ear again.
Man: “Keep an eye. We’re wheels up in five. Oh...And good shot, Moore.”
He crossed the parking structure to the wall where the spear was lodged into the concrete and pulled it free with ease. Like the desert eagle, the spear was no longer glowing as it shrunk back down to compact size and he slipped it back into the small holster at the small of his back. After he gathered his weapon he returned to the shocked women who stared up at him in shock.
Lillian Kim: “...What the hell is going on!? Who are you?! What was that?! Where did it come from?!”
Man: “My name is Lawrence Ford and that….”
The man reached down and pulled first Lillian up by the hand and then Alexa, taking special care to swipe the dust and gravel from Alexa’s side, which she quickly slapped his hand away, but he didn’t seem to notice or care as he answered Lillian.
Lawrence Ford: “...was a Loroca. As for the other questions, you can get those answers back at base.”
Alexa Morgan: "Base?! We’re not going anywhere with you!”
?: “I’m afraid I’m gonna have to insist.”
The attention of the two women shot over to the stairs as Alexander Marks came around the corner.
Agent Marks: “You can come of your own free will or you can come in handcuffs but one way or another? You’re coming.”
Lillian and Alexa looked at one another and then back at Alexander as the episode fades out.
